Armistice Day 2017: Thousands of Brits stop to remember fallen war heroes

THOUSANDS of Britons stopped to remember the sacrifices of our fallen war heroes yesterday – with a poignant two-minute silence.

Photos depicting the agony and ecstasy of the end of First World War have been brought to life in colour for the first time to coincide with the 99th Armistice Day, as Britain remembers those who lost their lives in the conflict.

Armistice Day traditionally marks the end of WWI when Germany and the allied forces signed the armistice in 1918, signalling the end of hostilities on the Western Front.
